の本体機能を更新するアップデートを開始しました。今回のアップデートでは、システムソフトウェアのバージョンが 4.25になり、次の機能が更新されます。
■ バージョン4.25で更新される主な機能
オンラインストレージに保存できるセーブデータの容量が増えました。この機能を使うには、Sony Entertainment NetworkのアカウントとPlayStationPlusへの加入が必要です。
1つのアカウントで利用できるオンラインストレージのサイズは最大1 GB、保存可能なセーブデータの数は最大1000です。

It was announced early this summer that the PlayStation Cloud will increase from 150 megabytes to a full gigabyte, and that previously announced update will be coming tonight. The limitations with the small cloud space will be a thing of the past. Personally, I've hit the wall that the 150 megabytes offers, but I wonder what else the full gigabyte is meant for besides the saves. Regardless of its full intentions, we will have a lot more space dedicated to backing up our save files. Via PS Blog

Sony announced Tuesday that the 4.25 firmware update for the Playstation 3 is on the way and it is bringing an increase in online game save storage for PS Plus subscribers with it. The increased online storage announcement was originally made at Gamescom in August and takes the amount of space that can be used to save games online from 125MB to 1GB. This option is only available to those that sign up for the $50 per year Playstation Plus membership that also comes with a slew of free games. "After you’ve installed the update, simply go to the Saved Data Utility under the Game column of the XMB," Sony VP Eric Lempel explained on the Playstation Blog. "From there you can access the Online Storage folder and find any existing game saves already uploaded, as well as the increase in space to 1GB. So set your automatic download to upload every game save for every compatible game you play and enjoy the additional breathing room. You can also continue to use this feature to selectively upload game saves you specify." The PS Vita does not have access to PS Plus cloud storage yet. For comparison's sake, Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers get 511MB of online cloud storage for game saves. The 4.25 firmware update will be released some time Tuesday evening according to Playstation Community rep Morgan Haro.
